FSBVG Site Check-In
FS Berlin at its zenith
This is a fun site for Field Station Berlin Vets, where we can do our own thing, toot our own horn, and keep in touch with history, and poetry, our memories, and each other.

As  RUDYARD KIPLING (1865-1936) told us,

"For it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that,
an' "Chuck 'im out, the brute!"
But it's "Savior of 'is country" when
the guns begin to shoot."

If you are interested in FSBVG, and if you really want to be informed and in contact, join our Group as a member.  That can be done at our Join page.   Placing my reputation for veracity only in slight jeopardy, we boast that becoming a member will prove a greater experience and open more doors in life than you could possibly imagine.  In addition, it will make you, by default, one of the coolest people in the universe.  We want you in our Group, so don't wait, click the button below now to join the FSBVG!

There are very good ways of keeping in touch with the Field Station Berlin veterans community, if one chooses not to join the Field Station Berlin Veterans Group.

We  recommend our Guestbook below, and that FSB veterans join:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Field_Station_Berlin

The Yahoo Group is a fine, free alternative for communications with many choices and resources.  Access the site and join it with a note about yourself with your name and a brief service description.  Be sure to establish a Yahoo profile in order to access the website.  Yahoo email is not a requirement, but it is superlative.
FSBVG WANTS YOU!
Checking-in  or becoming a member of our FSB Vets Group are not pre-requisites to your use or enjoyment of this website.  All these good things are voluntary!  It is hoped that each page on this web site will offer something interesting for you.  You may visit any one of them by clicking on one of the links in the list below.  A Web Page List, or other navigation buttons, will be at the bottom of every page.

Please make an entry in our Guest Book to greet our special community.
Introduce yourself, or maybe ask about old friends.

Your comments in the Guest Book are welcome regarding anything on this website, or vets issues, Berlin service, or other issues relevant to FS Berlin Vets.  FSBVG will not accept name and e-mail address information from anyone who is not at least eighteen years old.  Therefore, such youngsters may not post here.

Kindly keep your entries decent, friendly, and unclassified because Big Brother really is listening, you know.

Remember the ASA motto:  "In God we trust; all others we monitor."
FSBVG Member Representative

George DeBuchananne                               66-69          AGVDEB@Starpower.Net          Silver Spring, MD

He volunteered to appear here for you to contact.  Ask any questions you have about Berlin, Teufelsberg, and the Field Station Berlin Vets Group.

Sad news for those of us who went to the ASA reunions at Blob's park, Vint Hills, and who knew CWO James K.S. Allis, our former Member Rep.  He passed away on 6 September 2005 after an extended illness, more than a year after a doc gave him just three more months.

Tall and thin, you may have seen him smiling and snapping photos at many events, always remembering everyone he ever knew with a big smile.  He was at last summer's Blobs park reunion knowing well it would be his last.

For those who don't know, Jim was half of the big local ASA Picnic committee, and he and his wife, kids, grandkids, and many friends contributed greatly to the success of the event each year at Blob's Park, MD.  Many  remember Jim as a great American, veteran, and all around nice guy - he will be sorely missed.

Jim Allis was stationed in Berlin from 1966-68.
